CONNECT: MAINSTREAMING BIODIVERSITY INTO THE HEART OF DECISION MAKING

National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) on behalf of Government of Uganda is executi ng a 4-year Global Environment Facility/UN Environment World Conservati on Monitoring Centre (GEF/UNEP-WCMC) supported Project called "Connect: Mainstreaming Biodiversity Informati on into the heart of government decision making".

The development goal of the project is to help achieve sustainable development by bringing biodiversity informati on to the heart Government decision making using actionable biodiversity information.

The objective of the project is to ensure biodiversity is taken into account in decision making across government sectors by improving end-users' access to and use of biodiversity information and embedding biodiversity information within nati onal development decision making processes.

To ensure eff ective and efficient delivery of project outputs and outcomes, NEMA is seeking to recruit competent staff stated below for the Nati onal Project Implementation Unit (NPIU).

The NPIU will be headed by a Nati onal Project Coordinator (NPC) and supported by a National Project Manager (NPM) and Project Assistant (Finance and Administration).

STRENGTHENING INSTITUIONAL CAPACITY FOR EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF RIO CONVENTIONS IN UGANDA

National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) on behalf of Government of Uganda is implementi ng a 4-year Global Environment Facility / United Nati ons Development Programme (GEF/UNDP) supported Project on "Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Effective Implementation of Rio Conventions in Uganda".

The objecti ve of the project is to strengthen insti tuti onal capacity for effective implementation and monitoring of Rio Conventions in Uganda.

The project builds on the Nati onal Capacity needs Self-Assessment (NCSA) process for implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) in Uganda.

During project implementati on, NEMA will closely collaborate with Rio Conventions Focal points and GEF Operati onal Focal Point to ensure proper coordinati on with other initiatives.

To ensure eff ecti ve and effi cient delivery of project outputs and outcomes, NEMA is seeking to recruit competent staff stated below for the Project Management Unit(PMU).

During project implementati on, NEMA will closely collaborate with other government agencies especially Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), Ministry of Water and Environment and District Local Governments.
