National Resistance Movement (NRM) treasurer Rose Namayanja has dismissed rumours of her contesting for the Nakaseke Woman MP seat as unfounded.

"I am not preparing to join active politics neither I am eyeing to contest for Nakaseke Woman MP. This is Namayanja reloaded through empowering the needy," said Namayanja.

Her remarks follow media reports that indicated that she interested in the Nakaseke seat.

"Apparently I am now concentrating on helping the less privileged, women, children and the needy. The aim is to empower them and improve the women household income. Pay tuition for the children, improve the existing health facilities," Namayanja said.

Asked why she is still the NRM treasurer yet claims to be inactive in elective politics she explained that she is a politician and a technical officer at the top NRM secretariat, with responsibilities of the party.

She said her only priority in politics will be canvassing for votes for members of her ruling NRM party, members including President Yoweri Museveni the NRM chairman person.

Speaking during the launch of her NGO, Rose Namayanja Foundation (RNF), in Nakaseke Semuto Sub County on Thursday, Namayanja said it was time for her to concentrate on giving back to people, since she was also helped to achieve her goals.

RNF is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-political Ugandan organization aimed at inspiring Ugandans in leadership, business and social enterprises with special focus on the youth, women and less privileged.

Namayanja said the organization is set to promote socio-economic transformation through creating platforms/ environment for good education, healthy communities, focused leadership and business entrepreneurship.

"I am a product of a Good Samaritan and it is now time for me to also give back to families through empowering them," she said.

"A saviour George William Kiberu helped me to attain my dream. He gave me a bursary to study for free at Light College Katikamu and this helped me achieve my dream. Little did my helper Kiberu know that one day I would be one of Uganda's prominent persons. He helped me to complete my education." Namyanja said.

"On many occasions we can't know what the future holds but this should not stop us from dreaming big," Namayanja added.

"I served you for 15 years as a Member of Parliament. Let the young and new faces also serve the people of Nakaseke," Namayanja said while at Bukatira Primary School.

She said she would be putting all her efforts in empowering the unprivileged locals of Nakaseke to help them elevate their living standards.

She noted that a number of schools have been constructed and facilitated with equipment through the foundation.
