MUBS surprised many by beating YMCA 7-4 on Sunday to reach the final

At the beginning of the season, MUBS looked disorganised but they were the only ones who believed that they could impress in the National Beach Soccer League.

With majority of their key student players out after graduating and coach Charles Ayiekho busy at Big League side Nyamityobora FC, MUBS even skipped matches and lost the fans' confidence.

But along the way, the team fought back to win successive matches with huge margins.

MUBS surprised many by beating YMCA 7-4 on Sunday to reach the final where they will play Mutesa 1 Royal University at Lido Beach in
Entebbe this Sunday.

The 2013 and 2014 champions underlined their determination ejecting Stormers 7-4 in the quarterfinals before convincingly stopping the Stormers.

Ben Ocen led assault of the Nakawa side with hattrick against YMCA. Isma Kawawulo followed with a brace, Maxwell Okello and Julius Zimula then completed the tally with a goal each.

"I have always told you that when we finally focus, we shall get our form and even win the trophy. We have the potential. All we need is to have regular training before the final," coach Ayiekho said.

Allan Zirimenya scored a brace for YMCA while Hamim Ssemakula and Derrick Tekkwo added a goal each which left them short of measuring up to MUBS.
