KCCA FC's Derrick Nsibambi has attributed his impressive performances for both club and country to hard work.

Nsibambi made his debut for the Uganda Cranes in the 1-0 victory over Cape Verde in Praia, in the 2019 AFCON Qualifier.

"I'm happy that I have made my competitive debut for the national team and most importantly that we managed to win the game. It is not easy to make the national team fold but I'm happy that after giving my best at club level, I have achieved this. My club KCCA FC has given me the platform to reach this far," stated Nsibambi.

Nsibambi featured for 90 minutes before he was substituted in added time for club mate and defender, Timothy Awany.

The former Dynamic SS student, who is enjoying a rich vein of form, has scored four goals in KCCA's three CAF Confederation Cup games and netted seven in the run to the Uganda Cup final.

Nsibambi, Geoffrey Serunkuuma, Awany, Denis Okot, Benjamin Ochan and Isaac Muleme are the six players from KCCA that were part of the Cranes squad that represented the country.
