What the Uganda U23 girls can't do in the Kwibuka Women's T20, their counterparts the U19s can do exceedingly!

They quickly lived up to the expectations on day one, defeating the Rwanda National side with relative ease (6wickets) at the Kicukiro oval.

Still, the Uganda U19s succeeded where their "seniors" failed by beating the Kenyan team by one wicket, the same team that beat the Uganda U23.

Interestingly when the two Ugandan sides met Saturday, the result was a rude awakening for the more experienced Uganda 23, losing by 7 wickets.

The junior side, a select side from this year's UCA Girls Schools Cricket Week won the toss and decided to bowl. Kevin Awino's 31 not out from 38 balls guided the U23s to 115 in their 20 allotted overs.

However, the figures posted eventually seemed not to put them in a comfortable position as their juniors rose to the occasion, successfully chasing the game courtesy of Immaculate Nakisuyi's stifling display.

The Masaka SS student who was player of series in the Girls Schools Cricket Week struck a half ton of 51 from 34 balls before she was out caught. Stephanie Nampiina weighed in with 31 from 28 balls as the U19s won by 7 wickets with 29 balls to spare.

It should be remembered that the Uganda U19s are looking to defend the title they won last year and Sunday is the final day of the four team tournament.
