Nampeera, new gospel song bird on the block

Jun 06, 2017

Nampeera released her first album in 2013, which is a mixture of ragge, zuku and soul genres. But before that, Nampeera was a worshiper at Eden Revival Church.

Even though she is not widely known, Christine Nampeera Rubanga with her strong vocal abilities is the new gospel artist to watch out for on the gospel scene.

Nampeera released her first album in 2013, which is a mixture of ragge, zuku and soul genres. But before that, Nampeera was a worshiper at Eden Revival Church.

When she got married and had children, Nampeera decided to give singing a break. But in 2012, Nampeera revived her music passion. She started working with musicians and song writers like Tebifaana and released her maiden album the following year.

While other gospel artist might pride in penning their own lyrics, Nampeera says she simply comes up with the choruses and other people help her with the rest.

"I can come up with the song and sometimes write everything," says Nampeera, "but to be frank,   talented song writers like Tebifanana have to edit the songs and sometimes add in their bits."                 She adds: "I find that very helpful since they are strong in areas where I am weak."

Some of Nampeera's songs are already rocking the F.M radio stations like Impact F.M and Top Radio. Others on Youtube and televisions stations.

These include Kampumulire (let me rest in God's presence). Nampeera says she sang the songs to encourage those who might be going through hardships.  "You might have a burden, but when you give it to the Lord; you get peace," she argues.

For the second truck, "Kisa kya Mukama (by   the grace of God), the former accountant now a business woman stresses the need for God's grace.  "It does not matter where you are in life or what you are doing," says Nampeera in the song.   "But when the grace of God is with you, you become a victor."

Third on the album is "Ebiro (Time)".  Nampeera says for those who are impatient,   there is time for everything.  If you are impatient, you can land yourself in trouble for instance turn into a thief or be in a bad relationship.

‘Happy day' is another song on the album which is meant for joyful occasions.  This song is meant for weddings and introduction ceremonies. It appeals to those who come to the functions to celebrate with the celebrants instead of having sulky faces.

Others songs include Naberanganawe (I will be with you God) , Ngatanakugoba- (before God abandons you." In life you might be facing hardships, but if you have God, never give up.

Nampeera started singing right from her Sunday school days, Primary, and secondary level. Right now Nampeera prays from Divine worship Centre, Kireka.  She also ministers in Uganda in different churches, seminars and ceremonies.

You can get her music from the church or at the Youtube.  She is also working on her second album which has songs like Kigambo (the word) and Nasalawo okusinza, (I worship you).
