Job opening for accountants

The Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau, a leading Christian organization coordinating over 291 health centers and 18 hospitals all over Uganda, is inviting applications for the following position from suitably qualified individuals to work as part of a professional and self-driven team

JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT
REPORTS TO: FINANCE MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE: To undertake all the finance support for the department and ensure that all accountancy processes and controls are followed by all UPMB Staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION

􀁸􀀃 Prepare monthly books of accounts payroll and reconciliations

􀁸􀀃 Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in line with financial guidelines

􀁸􀀃 Classify and assign budget codes, calculate and compile cost estimates and projected budget requirements and assist in budget preparation and revision

􀁸􀀃 Assist to plan, prepare, co-ordinate and implement all external audit activities

􀁸􀀃 Track budget allocation against obligations

􀁸􀀃 Monitor Donor accounts and provide detailed monthly accountability

􀁸􀀃 Verify the accuracy of calculations and completeness of accounting records and assist to plan, prepare, co-ordinate and implement all external audit activities

􀁸􀀃 Provide guidance to the Accounts team

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

􀁸􀀃 Professional qualification in ACCA or CPA

􀁸􀀃 A Bachelor's Degree of Commerce or Business Administration majoring in accounting

􀁸􀀃 At least five years of experience in a similar position in an NGO.
