The online registration of candidates for the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) has started

Candidates who will sit for November/December 2017 business and technical examinations have to register on line.

This was revealed by the Principal Officer, UBTEB, Sam Patrick Ogwang during a stakeholders meeting held at Arch apartments and hotel in Ntinda on Tuesday to discuss the progress of skills sub-sector.

Ogwang said some of the objectives of online registration include; reduce paper work hence cost reduction, curb out fees defaulters from accessing UBTEB examinations, speed up the process of conduct of exams release of results.

 


Other objectives of the registration are to reduce errors in capturing candidate's bio data for instance; gender and names, then also eliminate duplicate registration and issuance of duplicate registration numbers.

"With online registration, candidates will view their results (but not print) on line; candidates will view the papers they register for online, and heads of centres will have access to all candidates' results online," Ogwang said

 "We expect to reduce on the registration related errors in results and transcripts by 90%," Ogwang added

He explained that through this process, heads of centres will continually submit online paid-up candidates as and when they pay the registration fees.

Currently, there are about 445 accredited examinations centres for business and technical institutions across the country. And since UBTEB was established in 2012, over 23, 326 students have graduated, 6,363 being females and 16,963
