A musical concert in honour of departed Catholic music composers was on Sunday held at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel, Rubaga.

It attracted choirs from Catholic Churches like Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Kansanga, Bukalagi Catholic Church, Nabbingo Catholic Church and St Joseph's catholic Church, Nsambya. Others were St Mary's Technical Institute, Kyamuhunga, Bukalagi Catholic Church, Nkokonjeru Catholic Church and St. Agnes Kibuye Makindye Catholic Church.
Teddy Nampeera left and Justine Kasule who sang in St Peter's Basilica Rome in 1964 also crooned a song.
The choirs performed songs of departed Catholic musicians s like Joseph Kyagambiddwa, Benedict Mubangizi, Msgr Bonevenure Kasaija, Aliphonse Ssebunnya , Ponsiano Kayongo Bivamuye, Fr Vincent Bakkabulindi and Andrew Ddumba. The choirs also sang melodies of the White Fathers and the Mill Hill Fathers.

The Vicar-general of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, Msgr Charles Kasibante commended the choirs for reviving the native sacred melodies.
Justine Nabbaale, the organizer, said the concert would be an annual event.
