COPA Coca Cola soccer tournament officials have expressed concern over the local soccer fans' hostility towards the host school Masaka Secondary School.

"We are surprised, the local soccer fans do not seem to like the hosts Masaka SS. They support every team that takes on the host team," an official at the tournament secretariat said.

The visiting teams, sponsors and tournamet officials were left wondering why Masaka soccer fans jubilated when the hosts Masaka SS lost 1-0 to Jinja SS during the opening match of the tournament at Masaka Recreation Ground.

The soccer fans are backing the runners up side of the Masaka district post primary soccer competition, Blessed Sacrament Secondary
School Kimaanya.

The Masaka district post primary soccer finals between district defending champions Masaka SS and Kimaanya was halted when the police fired tiregas to disperse rowdy soccer fans.

The local football authorities qualified Masaka Ss as champions after finding Kimaanya guilty of gross indiscipline at the match.
