Minister Amongi says they want to seek cabinet's approval to present the amendment bill before parliament.

KAMPALA - Goverment is in advanced stages of introducing constitutional amendments to allow government to take over land in case a landlord delays the proposed projects.
This was revealed by the minister of lands Betty Amongi while appearing before the parliamentary committee on physical infrastructure to make their budget presentation of sh124.1bn for the financial year 2017/18.
Amongi said that Article 26 will be amended to allow government pay to court if the landlord fails to accept compensation as valued by the government's chief valuer.
She said they want to seek cabinet's approval to present the amendment bill before parliament.
