Ugandans abroad asked to woo investors to Uganda

Ugandans in the diaspora have been asked to entice foreign investors to come and invest in Uganda for industrial and economic growth in the country.

According to Florence Kiremerwa, the Special Presidential Assistant on diaspora issues, the government, has put in place a conducive environment and incentives for investors, which are good for foreign investors.

"I urge all diaspora Ugandan, to bring investors back home and also connect the companies they work for to come and invest in Uganda," Kiremerwa said.

She tasked Ugandans abroad, to be Uganda's ambassadors, by promoting and marketing the country, to the outside world.

Kiremerwa, made the remarks, in reference, to the fourth coming UK Midlands trade and investment conference, organized by Daniel Nsaba Buturo, a Ugandan based in the UK.

The Uganda -Midlands, UK trade and investment conference slated for May 9, 2017, will take place at the west Bromwich Albino football club- The Richardson suite.

In a statement by Daniel Nsaba Buturo, the conference will lead to a trade mission to Uganda in October 2017.

"This Uganda Trade mission will be stage four of the programme. Here, Uganda will be able to meet midlands, UK partners, who will be seeking to trade or invest into Uganda," Buturo said.

In the statement, Buturo noted that during the trade conference in the UK, participants will get a chance to learn more about how the UK government delivers on generating economic growth to her regional business communities via local enterprise partnerships.

The conference will also bring together UK private sector companies, dealing in sectors like Tourism and Agriculture, who according to the organizers, can be potential investors in Uganda.
