Kawempe Muslim 5 Kampala Queens 2
The battle between Annet Nakimbugwe and her daughter Hasifa Nassuna was the center of attraction as Kawempe Muslim beat rivals Kampala Queens 5-2 in the FUFA Women Elite League.
Nakimbugwe, who features for Kampala Queens, is yet to taste victory against her daughter side's Kawempe Muslim in the last five meetings including when Nakimbugwe was still at Buikwe She Red Stars.
Both mother and daughter had a good game, with each scoring a brace for their respective teams in a game that extended Kawempe Muslim's lead to 33 points in the Elizabeth group.
Favour Nambatya, Aminah Nababi and Joan Nakirya scored the other goals for Kawempe.
The reigning champions also registered a double victory over Kampala Queens, having defeated them 1-0 in the first round of the league.
Kawempe had returned to action in league after suffering a setback in their previous game. They had been eliminated by Muteesa Royal 1 University from the FUFA Women Cup with a 1-0 defeat.
At the end of the regular season, the top two teams in each of the groups (Elizabeth and Victoria) go for the play-offs to decide the winner of the league while the same number of teams at the bottom of each group are relegated.
