Nebbi Grade II Magistrate, Michael Okonya has remanded a 42-year-old year security guard for allegedly killing his wife's lover.

Patrick Olegmungu was remanded over last Wednesday's murder of Openji Athowan, a bodaboda cyclist in Nebbi Town.

It is alleged that Olegmungu stabbed Openji to death after he caught him having sex with his wife in their marital bed at Arumukeng Ward in Nebbi Municipality.

Olegmungu was arrested on Thursday by Police after a tip-off from a neighbour.

Openji's naked body was found lying in a pool of blood inside Olegmungu's house.

Okonya did not allow the suspect to enter a plea saying the court has no jurisdiction to handle the case.

He remanded him to Koch Prison until April, 20, when he will return to court for mention before a higher court.

"This court has no jurisdiction to try you, I remand you to Koch Prison until April, 20, when you will return for mention of charges before a higher court," he said.

He was remanded alongside Ojok Jabilo, a resident of Wadelai Sub County who is accused of murdering Yakobo Oroma over land wrangles.

According to Police, Jabilo used a hoe handle to kill his opponent in the same week.
