Handover of the Immigration Training Academy Nakasongola

The Ministry of Internal Aff airs through the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration on Control (DCIC), a Public Service Insti tuti on responsible for managing immigration in Uganda, is proud to witness the handover of the Immigration Training Academy today April 10, 2017 in Kiwuwa, Nakasongola.

A training Insti tuti on was highlighted by the Republic of Uganda's Border and Migration Management Assessment (2014) which stated that the DCIC‘should build on its base of welleducated staff , by establishing its own training facility and using the availability of the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) African Capacity Building Centre at Moshi to identify and prioriti ze training needs, and develop and deliver the practi cal training needs voiced by many DCIC offi cers'

With funding from the Government of Japan and support of IOM the project has been completed within a 12 month period. The Academy now has an Administration block, a Training hall that includes a MIDAS training room, two dormitories, three Latrine blocks and a Kitchen shed that can host up to 50 people.
