She is dead but Joan Kagezi; the slain Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions is still remembered by her colleagues at the directorate of Public Prosecution.

In Kagezi's memory, the Directorate has organised a memorial lecture.

The lecture will be held on Thursday, April 13 at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

The spokesperson of the DPP, Jane Kajuga told New Vision that the lecture will start at 8:00am in Nile Hall and close at mid-day and that the public is welcome.

Kajuga said that this is the second time; they are organising a memorial lecture for Kagezi, who was the lead prosecutor by the time she was killed in the trial of the 13 suspects over the 2010 terror attacks in Kampala which killed over 90 people.

Kagezi was shot dead by a team of men riding on a motorcycle in Kiwatule, a Kampala suburb, on March 30 2015 as she returned home after work.

Since Kagezi's death, several other government big shots including a senior Police officer, AIGP, Andrew Felix Kaweesi have been murder in the same style by gun wielding men riding on motorcycles.
