UPDF Major shot dead in Masindi

According to Asan Kasingye, Major. Erasmus Tinkamanyire was shot by prisons warden identified as Much Aramadri at Masindi district headquarters.
The Uganda Police has confirmed the death of UPDF major Erasmus Tinkamanyire who was the zonal UPDF zonal pensions officer based in Masindi.
According to Asan Kasingye, Maj. Tinkamanyire was shot by prisons warder, identified as Musa Arumadri at Masindi district headquarters.
Kasingye said the incident happened on March 30 at about 11:00pm when Tinkamanyire, who wore civilian clothes, went back to his office to pick his laptop.
Speaking to press at Bwebajja Police command and staff college in Wakiso, Kasingye said Tinkamanyire was shot as he went to the toilets. He said Arumadri was under cover and shot as soon as he saw the officer towards him.
Kasingye said the prisons officer may have mistaken him for the thugs who recently broke into the office of the district RDC and stole computers.
He said investigations have started, adding that Arumadri was arrested.
