Ambassador Tibaleka presents credentials to Slovak President

On arrival at the courtyard of honour of the Presidential Palace, Ambassador Tibaleka got a red carpet reception before the Uganda national anthem was played by the band of the guard of honour.

Ambassador Marcel Tibaleka has presented his letters of credence to Andrej Kiska, President of the Slovak Republic, during an official ceremony at the Grassalkovich Presidential Palace in Bratislava.
 
On arrival at the courtyard of honour of the Presidential Palace, Ambassador Tibaleka got a red carpet reception before the Uganda national anthem was played by the band of the guard of honour.
 
He then inspected a guard of honour before being ushered to the Great Hall in the Palace for the ceremony of the inaugural audience given to new ambassadors by the President of the Slovak Republic.
 
He then presented the letters of credence by which President Yoweri Museveni accredits him to Andrej Kiska as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda.
 
After the ceremony, President Kiska and Ambasador Tibaleka met and discussed various bilateral issues between the two countries, focusing mainly on opportunities and the possibilities of the two countries further expanding and deepening economic cooperation and giving priorities to areas of mutual interest such as agriculture, tourism, energy, infrastructure and trade.
 
Ambassador Tibaleka thanked the President for his warm welcome and said he was deeply honoured to be representing Uganda in Slovakia. He pledged to put most of his efforts towards widening the cooperation between the two countries especially in the areas of mutual interest they had discussed.
 

 
President Kiska asked the ambassador to pass along his best wishes to the people of Uganda and to President Yoweri Museveni whom he commended for his efforts in bringing about peace in the region and for dealing with the refugee crisis resulting from the displacement of thousands of South Sudanese refugees, who have been forced to flee their country due to the ongoing conflict.

Ambassador Tibaleka is Uganda's ambassador for Germany, the Vatican, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and Austria; he also represents Uganda at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).
