Lady golfer Ann Abeja was a double winner but it was Moses Matsiko who emerged top as the inaugural edition of the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort Members' golf tournament ended on Thursday.

Abeja returned 30 points to emerge the top lady golfer on the day, winning herself a night for two at the Serena Hotel and another round of golf on the course for her feat, on top of the Nearest to the Pin prize.

But it was Matsiko, a member of Serena who beat the competition on the day with 34 points beating his closest challenger Jadu Patel on count-back.

"I was warry of one man in particular, Jadu Patel who has been playing this course level but I faced less competition overall," Matsiko said after receiving his prizes from Serena Hotel Country Manager Anthony Chege.

Mahesh Tailor was runner overall, while Kampala's Faiz Alam and Entebbe Club's Irene Nakalembe took the longest drive prizes.

Kiryowa Kiwanuka took the nearest to the pin accolade in the one-day, Blue Label Whisky, Pinnacle Security, Master Powers and Lake Victoria Serena Golf and Spar sponsored tournament.
