Maroons FC extended lead in Elgon group

Maroons FC has extended their lead at the top of the Elgon group in the FUFA Big League to eight points following their 5-2 win over Doves All Stars on Thursday

Solomon Walusimbi opened the score for the hosts in the 21st minute and youngster Pius Obuya netted a second in the 31st minute to end the first half 2-0 in favour of Maroons.

Maroons started the second half with another goal from Obuya in the 57th minute.

Maroons top scorer Patrick Kaddu also bagged two goals in the 69th and 82nd minute both solid headers to give Maroons a 5-0 lead.

But the visitors were not ready to lose without a fight.

Alfred Adrilinga and Fred Adriko converted two quick goals in the 87th and 90th minute respectively for the visitors but the goals came a little too late as Maroons did win 5-2.
