Kabula County wins Buganda Royal Regatta

Kabula County won this year's Buganda Royal Regatta that climaxed Saturday evening at Mulungu Landing site, Munyonyo.

Kabula won both the 10km race and sprints to edge Ggomba who came in second and Bugerere, last year's champion, came in third.

Kabula were crowned champions by the Kabaka in company of the Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga.

Nnabagereka Sylvia Nagginda, princes Jjunju Suuna and Richard Semakookiro also attended the function.

On top of the race and sprints ,there was also  music performances from  Winnie Nwagi, Dr. Hilderman, Bobi Wine, Ronald Mayinja and Mathias Walukaga.

The event at Munyonyo was under the theme "Ekitiibwa  kya Buganda: N'ennono y'empingu"(Reclaiming Buganda's Heritage through Water sports).

The regatta was aimed at reviving and development of water sports in Buganda Kingdom to modern standards while preserving its traditional roots and heritage.
