Rally ace Jas Mangat has promised to return in big style for the Kabale rally in March.

Mangat, navigated by Joseph Kamya, was leading but had to drop out of the Mbarara rally in the last section after damaging his inter-cooler system when he knocked an anti-hill

His exit gave way for Omar Mayanja to win the event.

"We knocked an anti-hill and damaged the inter-cooler so we could not complete the rally, but that is rally and we will be back," said Mangat.

He congratulated Mayanja on his victory.

Mangat is a three-time National Rally champion and is current the defending champion of the National Rally Championship.

Meanwhile, if there ever was a rally event fans enjoyed, it was this year's Mbarara rally.

The high competition between the top ten drivers left the fans with no choice but to brave the elements - it rained throughout the day.

Jas Mangat, Hassan Alwi, Arthur Blick, Christakis Fitidis, Ronald Ssebuguzi, Duncan Mubiru, Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, Ambrose Byona, Omar Mayanja and Musa Kabega were chasing each other tightly.
