Nalweyiso promoted to Major General in new army reshuffle

Brig George Igumba, who has been the deputy Commandant of Senior Command and Staff College, is appointed the Chief of Personnel and Administration of the UPDF.

President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has promoted and transferred army officers in a reshuffle announced on Friday.

APPOINTMENTS, TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS IN THE UPDF

January 13, 2017: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has made appointments, transfers and promotions in the UPDF as follows:

1.         Brig Proscovia Nalweyiso has been promoted to the rank of Major General.

2.         Maj Gen Nakibus Lakara has been appointed the Commander Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Center.

3.         Brig George Igumba, who has been the deputy Commandant of Senior Command and Staff College, is appointed the Chief of Personnel and Administration of the UPDF.

4.         Col Chris Bossa, who has been the Course Coordinator at Senior Command and Staff College - Kimaka, is promoted to the rank of Brigadier and appointed the deputy Commandant of the same College.

5.         Col Henry Matsiko, who has been the heading the Patriotic Secretariat, is promoted to the rank of Brig and appointed the Chief Political Commissar of the UPDF.

6.         Col Patrick Mwesigye, who has been at National Leadership Institute - Kyankwanzi, is appointed head of the Patriotic Secretariat.

7.         Brig Paul Lokech, who has been a Defence Attaché to Russia, is appointed the 2 Division Commander.

8.         Brig Sam Kavuma, who has been the 5 Division Commander, is appointed the deputy Commander Air forces.

9.         Col Michael Kabango, who has been the Defence Attaché to Somalia, is promoted to the rank of Brigadier and appointed the 5division Commander.

10.       Brig Richard Karemire, who has been the Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence, is appointed the Military Spokesman.
