Why is my partner terrorising us?

My partner and I have been together for eight years and we have three adorable children and I'm pregnant.

The children and I were miserable in that relationship! I tried whatever possible to make it work, but failed. My partner does not talk to the children or I in a civil manner, he only quarrels, shouts, complains, criticises, abuses or beats us.

He seems to take pleasure in humiliating the children and me in front of neighbours, housemaids and relatives.

He accuses me of infidelity without evidence. If I sit on a bodaboda twice, he accuses me of sleeping with the rider. He expects me to return home at 4:30pm yet office closes at 5:00 pm and our home is about 12kms away!

He does not want me to talk to neighbours or even invite friends to visit our home. Once a friend visited and I bought her beer. When my partner returned home, he complained that I have started bringing alcohol into his house and broke the bottle on my head in front of the neighbours!

That was final nail in the coffin. I took the children and run from home. However, now my partner is hunting me down to the extent of harassing some of my friends he suspects helped me escape.

What can I do?
