According to Ongwara, abusive language by leaders has scared away locals from seeking help from the leaders who are meant to help them in case need arises.

The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Serere district, Moses Agum has warned civil servants and politicians against harassing locals.

The warning follows a report from the LC3 chairperson Pingire sub-county, Michael Ongwara that some leaders abuse their offices.

According to Ongwara, abusive language by leaders has scared away locals from seeking help from the leaders who are meant to help.

He appealed to the district leaders to live an exemplary life.

Agum advised leaders in various offices to treat people with integrity bearing in mind that they are in those offices because of public trust.

He cautioned that when district officials especially civil servants are found guilty of using abusive language towards the wananchi, they will be dismissed.

"There are many educated people out there to replace those tarnishing the image of civil servants," Agum said .
