Sauna catches fire in Bukoto, 1 injured

Tenants of Gold Mark Furnishing Apartments in Bukoto, a city suburb went into panic after a sauna caught fire last night.

The sauna which is located on the second floor caught fire after a sauna pipe burst into flames.

Abraham, a casual worker sustained a minor injury on the forehead.

"I was in my room and I had a big blast before I saw the sauna on fire. As I was coming out of my room, a piece of glass from the sauna section cut my forehead," Kivumbi narrated.

The incident happened at around 9pm and only one person was in the sauna by the time of the incident.

Collins Kiberu, managing director Gold Mark Apartments told New Vision that the steam valve got blocked and the pressure had no passage which forced the pipe to burst.

The customer who was in the sauna was not injured.
