Sula ready to defend pool title

Pool Christmas Cup champion Sula Matovu opens his title defence on Saturday at the Lumas Pool Arena.

"I have prepared enough, my training has been good so I hope to defend my title," Matovu, who is the reigning national champion stated.

He expects to face stiff challenge in the tournament from most of the top players.

"I expect the top players especially the seeded ones to mount the biggest challenge. The second seed expressed his gratefulness for tournaments like the Christmas cup for keeping them on top of their game before the next season starts," Matovu said

"Apart from the prize money this tournament , is good for helping us stay on form ahead of the next season.''

The prize money for the winner of the Christmas Cup for the men is sh1m and sh500,000 for women.
