Inflation rose to 4.6% in November from October's 4.1%.

Statistics from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBoS) indicate that annual headline inflation increased by 0.5 percentage points in November.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures released on Wednesday show that inflation increased to 4.6% in November from the 4.1% that was recorded in October.

Vincent Nsubuga, UBoS Principal Statistician, attributed the rise to increase in prices of food crops from 1.7% to 7.1% especially prices of fruits.

Core inflation - which excludes food, fuel, electricity and metered water which are volatile to price changes - also rose from 5.1% in October to 5.2% for the period under review.

However, annual energy fuel and utilities (EFU) decelerated to -1.4% from -1.9% that was recorded in October.
