Kisoro farmer sues NAADS over sh1.7b debt

Frank Byaruhanga through his company; Tindibyama Construction Limited claims that between May and June 2016 entered into a contract to supply tea seedlings worth sh1.7b to NAADS offices in Kisoro district.

 

The National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) has been dragged to commercial court for failure to pay sh1.7b to a farmer who supplied and transported tea seedlings to fellow farmers in Kisoro district.

Frank Byaruhanga through  his company; Tindibyama Construction Limited claims that between  May and June 2016 entered  into a contract to supply tea seedlings worth sh1.7b to NAADS offices in Kisoro district.

Court documents indicate that NAADS had to pay the money within 30 days upon delivery of the seedlings but despite repeated demands and engagement of senior people, no penny has been remitted to his bank account.

The court registrar, Thaddeus Opesene, has summoned NAADS and Kisoro Local Government to respond to the allegations within 15 days.
