Soroti RDC, John Stephen Ekoom on Monday afternoon handed over his office to his Katakwi counterpart Filbert Ocailap.
Ekoom is now the RDC Hoima district while the RDC Hoima, Ambrose Mwesigye is expected to report to Katakwi to replace Ocailap on Wednesday.
Giving his handover speech, Ekoom who worked as RDC Soroti since September last year requested his successor Ocailap to ensure that he takes over the mantle he has left behind.
Ekoom asked Ocailap to promote consultation with the security team so as to perform well adding that he has been disagreeing with the district chairperson, Girigori Mikairi Egunyu because of his roles.
Ocailap while receiving office vowed to perform to government expectation through promoting teamwork among other issues.
Ocailap was grateful to government considering his transfer as a promotion because he is now going to take care of the municipality and district not like Katakwi.
"I'm now requesting the technical staff to be transparent, avoid rumour mongering, bribery and formation of cliques," Ocailap asked.
Egunyu while closing the handover ceremony thanked Ekoom for his work in the district and urged Ocailap to aim, be confident, committed, effective, progressive, trusted and decent in whatever he does in Soroti.
Alex Otiti the District Intelligence Security Officer (DISO) Soroti urged the new RDC to promote teamwork and consult.
