Weatherhead gazelles were on top of their game at the weekend chalking up two wins in the national hockey league to increase pressure on former champions.

After beating the fourth placed Deliverance on Saturday 2-0, the second positioned side also smashed the former champions Wananchi on Sunday in a thrilling 3-2 win at the national hockey stadium lugogo which earned them to tally at 34 points together with the table leaders (Wananchi).

However, Wananchi still have an upper hand due to its goal difference of 60 with two games at hand compared to 39 for the closest and plausive challengers who are left with one game to end the competition.

According to Weatherhead Gazelles skipper Aisha Kagere, they are now committed to be the champions.
