Power blackouts make Kellagram dull

Nov 17, 2016

The reggae, dancehall and old school lovers were all catered for. Everyone was nodding in agreement or bellowing in attempt to sing along.

The Kellagram silent disco that happened recently at Gattomatto started well, but ended on a sad note.

When starting out, (9:00pm) everything was fine. The various DJs seemed to be on top of their game. All the 3 channels on the blue tooth headsets had something for everyone.

The reggae, dancehall and old school lovers were all catered for. Everyone was nodding in agreement or bellowing in attempt to sing along.

The order of the night was even more fascinating. Revellers had made segments according to the type of music they loved, and as if automatically, the music types marked by the colours green, red and blue on the headsets seemed to be the demarcation of boundaries and music distinction.

The mood was exactly what they promised. Everyone was dancing ecstatically to something and the occasional crazy ululation became normal.

Except, past midnight, the organizers received a blow. The party suffered consistent (6) power blackouts that, albeit solved in a time frame of 20 seconds, always slowed down the direction of the party that seemed headed to a powerful climax as the host, Salvador had arrived.

When the power glitch refused to be solved after a 5 minute blackout, only the red channel was playing music so revellers started moving out. Many were heard bellowing the proverbial Our Money line.

By the time the power stabilized, many of the revellers had left and the previously packed Gattomatto had a few people to listen to Salvador's jokes. The party went on till close to morning!
