Lions Club donates to children's home

The children in Amecet are those of parents who died of HIV while others were neglected by their parents

Members of Soroti Lions Club International (SLCI) in Soroti district helped clean up Amecet Children's Home. 

This following the alarming hygiene and sanitation witnessed in the area that was blamed on the limited personnel to carry out duties of cleaning the vulnerable children's home. 

According to Carlos Peter Ebiau, a member of SLCI, the exercise was aimed at expressing love and care to the 26 vulnerable children who are in Amecet Children's Home. 

"We did general cleaning after observing that there was need to do so and also due to the fact that this children need to stay in a clean environment" Ebiau stated. 

He warned parents against indulging in unplanned pregnancies that result in to birth of neglected children.

Simon Orugon, the assistant director Amecet Children's Home commended the members of SLCI for their support and love for children. 

He challenged other non-government organizations and well-wishers to copy the spirit of helping the vulnerable children who will be future leaders of this country. 

Members of Soroti Lions Club International also donated several items to the children including; sugar, soap and foodstuffs.
