Besigye in Fort Portal for fundraising ceremony

Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Col Kiiza Besigye is in Fort Portal municipality for the party's fundraising ceremony.

The piece of land Nyakato says is to host the party's regional offices.Besigye was welcomed with a huge procession from Kitumba trading center about 4km from Fort Portal town along the Kampala highway.

Before heading to the venue, he drove through the streets of Fort Portal municipality as he waved to the cheering crowds with his V party symbol.

The police kept a close watch as they followed him wherever he was going.At the venue Besigye was welcomed by a mammoth gathering most of whom were putting on the FDC party t-shirts.

He is being accompanied by artists Bobi wine and Adam Mulwana who are expected to hold a concert in Fort Portal later in the evening.

Besigye in his speech commended the people of Toro for their increasing support towards him and the FDC party.

He challenged them not to give up on the struggle of liberating their country Uganda from the hands of just a few individuals.

Besigye accused the ruling government of not prioritizing the needs of the people it serves for the many years it has been in power.
