Kenya to host CECAFA Cup

Neighbour Kenya replaced Sudan as hosts of the event

Kenya will host his year's CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup this month at dates that are yet to be confirmed.

Uganda who are defending champions will be seeking to win a record 15th title.

This year's tournament will be the 39th edition of the annual tournament, an international football competition consisting of the national teams of member nations of the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA).

Kenya who last hosted the event in 2013, replaced Sudan as hosts of the event.

Uganda defeated Rwanda 1-0 in the final in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to win the tournament last year.

Ceaser Okhuti scored the only goal as Uganda won the competition for a record extending 14th time.

Kenya will also host the CECAFA Kagame Cup in December. Azam FC defeated Kenya giants Gor Mahia 2-0 in the final to win last year's event hosted in Tanzania.
