By the time police reached the scene of crime, the suspects had already died. The Police spokesperson for Busoga North Sub region, Michael Kasadha confirmed the incident, saying the victims were riding a motorbike Reg. No. UDK 169D when they were intercepted and killed.

The duo was identified by residents of Kamuli as coffee dealers from Balawoli Sub County.

Kasadha condemned the act of mob justice saying it takes more effort to kill a person than effort that would be used to bring the same culprit to police. "We condemn mob justice in its entirety because it interferes with investigations. It is hard to tell if these people had really stolen the coffee or not" he said. Kasadha also observed that on many occasions, mob justice conceals evidence and therefore justice is not delivered.

Kasadha noted that in one week, three people have been killed in Kamuli.

By press time, the bodies were still in Kamuli hospital mortuary awaiting relative to take them to Balawoli for funeral arrangements.
