Busoga leaders also congratulated the President for winning the 2016 Presidential elections and a subsequent court case that was challenging his victory.

"We could not even understand why someone would dare to go to court to challenge your victory yet you had out-rightly won the elections," Kadaga said.

Busoga has also voted for President Museveni in all the previous elections in 1996, 2001, 2006 and 2011.

The Minister for Presidency, Mbulakubuza told President Museveni that Busoga would still rally behind him in the 2021 Presidential elections.

But according to the Constitution of Uganda, President Museveni may not be eligible to contest for the Presidency again in 2021 because he will be above the 75-year-age ceiling according to the Constitution of Uganda.

In his speech, Museveni thanked Busoga for the support he got from the region in the previous elections and appealed to them to stay with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) because it the only political organization that can guarantee the security of the country.
