The exhibition will take place on October 28, at Emina Pasha Hotel and the money raised will be used to build a girl's hostel at Dr. Tumusiime's former school.

Dr. Amanda Tumusiime, a senior lecturer in the department of visual communication, design and multimedia at Makerere University, is set to support education of girls through her career of art.

Dr. Tumusiime who doubles as an activist pledged the support in a media briefing about her forthcoming  art exhibition titled 'Another place, Another time: Million Dollar Masterpieces from Uganda and America 2003-2016' which took place at Makerere Art gallery.

Tumusiime who hails from Kaharo Village in Kabale district wants to use the art exhibition to put up a girl's hostel at Kaharo Secondary School to curb the rampant school girl dropout in the area.

"Many girls drop out of school due to the temptations they meet on the way going back home, so when a hostel is put in place it will minimize the vice since majority will be residing at school," Dr. Tumusiime revealed.

She added that students pass through trading centers where they are seduced by men who end up messing up their future.

"Most students come from poor families which gives a chance to men who hoodwink girls with small money before impregnating and dumping them," She added.

The exhibition will take place on October 28, at Emina Pasha Hotel and the money raised will be used to build a girl's hostel at Dr. Tumusiime's former school.
