In Tomorrow's Vision: Agnes Akongo, a midwife making a difference

Oct 03, 2016

Today, Agnes Akongo, a 38-year-old nursing officer midwife, has given mothers and new-borns at the hospital a new lease on life

A labour ward without clean water is like a life-support machine without electricity. Instead of nurturing life, they become death traps. And that was the case at the maternity unit in Soroti Hospital, until one midwife took matters into her own hands. Today, Agnes Akongo, a 38-year-old nursing officer midwife, has given mothers and new-borns at the hospital a new lease on life. Not only is her impact felt in the maternity ward, it has also stretched to the community. Find out how she is making a difference only in your copy of Her Vision
