The failure by Lukwago to appear before the committee has stalled its work

The Presidential Affairs Committee of Parliament has written to the Office of the Attorney General seeking for his guidance on how best they can query activities taking place in Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) without involving the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.

Bujenje County MP Patrick Kasumba a committee member said the committee chairperson Col. Fred Mwesigye decided to take this move after Lukwago failed to honour summons to appear before the committee on several occasions.

Kasumba said that the failure by Lukwago to appear before the committee has stalled its work on following up development projects within the city like the newly constructed markets and overseeing management of the city.

"We are supposed to have met the KCCA team only to be surprised when they only served us the status reports that we expected from them" Kasumba said.

"Therefore the chairman of the committee is going to write to the solicitor general to seek his guidance on how best to interact with the KCCA officials without the Lord Mayor" he added.
