Friends of Football happy with progress

Friends of Football (FOF) believe they have achieved their target of exposing and promoting talent among the youth.    

"The youth have a starting point when they play in various tournaments such as the City Tyres Chenga Challenge. It gives them exposure and new ideas to learn," stated Davis Katabira, administrative secretary (FOF).    

Katabira made the remarks after the FOF selected side of 23 players and five officials returned from Kisumu where they had to play various friendlies last week. The FOF team was selected at the recent concluded City Tyres Chenga Challenge Championship grand finale that was held in Moroto on September 10.   

In Kisumu, the FOF selected team played four games and managed to win one, drew two and lost one. They played to 1 all draw with Manyatta and lost 2-0 to Winam Stars respectively at Shaurimoyo primary school.    

At Moi stadium, they defeated Royal Kisumu 2-0 before drawing 1-1 with Manyatta B. They concluded the tour with 1 all draw with Naguru Police Kids academy in Busia before returning home .    

Katabira added that if they had sponsors, they could have taken the team to play various friendlies in Mwanza,Rwanda and Tanzania.
