PIC: Police patrolling premises during the previous trade show
This year's international trade fair at Uganda Manufacturer's Association (UMA) will take place from 3rd to 10th October at the UMA show grounds, Lugogo.
Annually, UMA organizes an international trade fair attended by exhibitors from over 20 countries, with a variety of products and services. This year's will be the 24th of its kind.
According to a communiqué from Sebagala Kigozi, the UMA executive director, in bid to promote women in manufacturing, this year's theme for the trade fair is, "Empowering women parity in manufacturing."
The trade fair will be officially opened by President Yoweri Museveni.
"Official opening is on 4th October, starting at 11:00am, in the UMA conference hall, Lugogo. Guests from other exhibiting countries will also attend the function," says Sebagala.
According to Sulaiman Mukasa, the trade fair manager, entrance fee for adults will be sh4000 and sh3000 for children. He adds that the show will be open to the public from 7:00am to midnight, and that those interested in showcasing their products can visit the grounds now, to learn about the different places they can operate from during the show.
"We still have space for showcasing products, starting from sh2.4m, depending on the location," says Mukasa.
