League sides gear up for U17 Junior League

Sep 21, 2016

All the 16 Premier League sides were required to have junior teams

The FUFA U17 Junior League will kick-off this Friday at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

This was confirmed by FUFA at its weekly press conference at Mengo on Wednesday morning.

Vipers in May defeated rivals KCCA 4-1 on penalties after settling for goalless draw to win last season's title.

Earlier last week, FUFA paid for MRI scans at Mulago Hospital for each of the players registered for this season's tournament. This was under taken to curb on the rampant use of over age players.

All the 16 Premier League sides were required to have junior teams as one of the requirements to be licensed for the new season.

Clubs that will be relegated from the top tier league will automatically have their U17 sides relegated to the second U17 tier.
