She said women have continued to suffer issues related to land wrangles, gender based violence and alcoholism, which should be addressed with stakeholders involvement right from community to national level.

Rwot Baptist Latim, the Pawel clan leader in Patiko Sub County commended the residents for the formation of the group noting that it will complement the existing efforts to eradicate gender based violence in the community.

Latim, who is also a member of the group, noted that the Acholi tradition has good practices that embrace issues related to women but no one has bothered to put them into practice.
