Monday to be public holiday

It is the second of two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year, the other being Idd-El-Fitri.

This Monday, September 12 will be a public holiday. According to an official announcement from the ministry of information, communication and technology, the public holiday, to be observed throughout Uganda is to celebrate Eid Aduha, also called the "Sacrifice Feast" or "Bakr-Eid".

It is the second of two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year, the other being Idd-El-Fitri.

Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah's (God's) command to sacrifice his son Ishmael.
