Comedian Kansiime nominated for prestigious award

Uganda comedian Anne Kansiime has been nominated for another prestigious award in the 2016 Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts Awards (BEFFTA). She has been nominated in the category of best female comedian for 2016.

Kansiime via her official Facebook page showed excitement for her nomination. "Wululululululul wululululluer wulululululuest I have been nominated BEFFTA 2016 Best Female Comedian", she wrote.

Voting starts on Monday 12th September. It is her third nomination in the same category in a row. Kansiime scooped the award on her first nomination in 2013.

This year's ceremony is the 8th and the grand finale will take place later on in October and will be hosted by legendary Holly wood star Winston George and BEFFTA chief Executive officer Pauline Long.

BEFFTA is among the biggest award ceremonies that honour the best showbiz and entertainment personalities in the UK, USA, Africa, Caribbean, Canada among others.

Kansiime who started her comedy career in 2007 when she was still at Makerere University has proved to be the leading female comedian in Uganda scooping different categories of awards.

In November 2015, Kansiime won "best comedian "award at the 2015 African Entertainment Awards held in USA. She also scooped an award at the Social Media Awards  and African Social Awards Malaysia in 2013.

Recently, Kansiime won awards in the category of best female comedian at Uganda Entertainment Awards 2016.
