With the excitement from Uganda Cranes qualification for the African Cup of Nations still in the air, the Uganda Premier League resumes today.

After a two week break, the league returns with eight games; the highlight being the clash between URA and Vipers at Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.

The Tax Collectors are yet to register a win in their two games played so far this season.

Former champions Vipers lie second on the table with 4 points and welcome back Erisa Ssekisambu who has been away in Lebanon on trials.

"If we are to get points against URA FC we need to better our performance since are playing a good side" Vipers coach Abdullah Mubiru stated.

Despite URA's slow start to the season, they'll approach today's match with optimism after their new signings, centre forwards Emmanuel Obina and Bokota Labama Kamana, were cleared to play.

"The clearance of our new players will add a lot to the team. I'm confident we shall put up a good competition," URA FC coach Kefa Kisaala said.

Elsewhere, Sam Ssimbwa will face off his former employers as KCCA hosts Soana at Lugogo.

Ssimbwa earlier this year had his contract terminated by KCCA after FUFA banned the tactician for eight months for his controversial comments on match fixing.

At Wankulukuku, Express will host promoted side Onduparaka who have one point for their troubles this season.
