KAMPALA - The Buganda Road Chief Magistrate's Court sent former Kampala police commander Aaron Baguma (pictured) and his co-accused to the High Court on Tuesday to face trial over the murder of city business woman Betty Dona Katusabe.

This was after the resident state attorney Jonathan Muwaganya told court that investigations into the case were complete and the committal papers were also ready.

Court was presided over by Chief Magistrate Jameson Karemani.

Police officers clad in khaki police uniforms were present in court to show solidarity to their jailed colleague.

It is alleged that Baguma, the co-accused and others still at large on October 21, 2015 at Pine Car Bond on Lumumba Avenue in Kampala, killed Betty Donah Katusabe.

He is the eighth of all the accused persons, who include Pine Car Bond boss Muhammad Ssebuwufu.

According to court documents, Baguma in company of three other officers, are alleged to have visited the car depot where they allegedly witnessed the torture of Katushabe and also ordered her to pay a sh9m debt instead of rescuing her.

The indictment further states that the woman pleaded with Baguma to take her to police because Ssebuwufu and his colleagues were determined to kill her but in vain.
