Ugandan comedy legend Ken Van Muk lands gig with NGO

The Launch that will take place on September 30, will feature hordes of influential people in the Ugandan government, which is a bigger platform for Ken Van Muk to peddle his craft.

Comedian Ken Van Muk was recently described as Uganda's unsung legend of comedy because of his various stints as a comedy producer. This was following several praises from comedy big wigs such as Salvador Patrick Idringi, Anne Kansiime, Teacher Mpamire alias Herbert Mendo, Prince Emmah Napoleone, among others.

Well to cap it all, news reaching us has it that the teacher-turned comedian has landed a gig with a local NGO named Healing Point International.

He is, according to Vicky Atino, the PR of the NGO, set to host the launch of the Bloom Magazine, one of the products of Healing Point International.

Speaking at a press conference about the unveiling of Ken Van Muk yesterday, Atino urged the public to jump on board in order to help the youth.

"The Ugandan youths are at trouble. Many of them subscribe to the unhealthy notions the cyber generation fronts and fall prey to the circumstances thereafter. They experience the same problems people in the previous generations faced, except, theirs are aggravated by the unguided access to all sorts of adult material online because they own smart phones.

They have easy access to pornography, liquor, drugs and other objects that stimulate moral decadence. And as such, they are damaged before they even leave school because they are stuffed with information they don't need and are not ready for. And then there are those who, courtesy of the world's unrelenting cruelties, are thrust under the storms of self-discovery. They are trudging the discovery journey in solitude yet with a hand, the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel is, but a flip away.

The Bloom Magazine is thus a channel that seeks to communicate to the youth in a way they understand. The magazine is one of the many schemes through which Healing Point International provides avenues for healing for such affected youths. The public can help us fight this problem by buying the magazine and making sure it reaches everyone that needs healing" relayed Atino, the PR of Healing Point.
