Out of around sh75m given to the eight groups in the town council, only sh6.4m is understood to have been paid back.

Joseph Okure, the town clerk, said audit reports reveal that some groups have failed to pay the funds because they invested it in unproductive activities.

According to him, some youth deposited money in their personal accounts, ignoring the right purpose for its usage.

Okure said some of the errant youth sidelined other group members from benefiting from project. The money is meant to be a revolving fund.

He urged the youth to plan for the activities to undertake before borrowing money in order to avoid making losses, warning that he would arrest the leaders of groups that have misappropriated funds.
